KAFTAN COLLECTION
A little bit of history....
KAFTANS AND TAKCHITAS
Although we can trace the origins of the Kaftan to older cultures and societies, the Takchita is a 100% Moroccan dress, a modern version of the Moroccan Kaftan, revisited by Moroccan designers, allowing the Kaftan to be explored, redefined and exported all over the world thanks to new modern forms. The Takchita is therefore a dress born in Morocco.
Moroccan kaftans are long dresses that can be plain, striped or decorated with elegant and delicate embroidery, made in a huge variety of colors, fabrics and patterns. Unlike kaftans, takchitas consist of two pieces, the bottom is more commonly called a "tahtiya" a type of kaftan, a long and basic garment without ornaments used as a first layer, and the "fouqia/or dfina" which is the top and which is often open and transparent with many beautiful embroidery, beading and embellishments that often buttons in the front using the traditional sfifa and akaad closures.
What we want at ALMA NÓMADA is to make these pieces wearable for a modern, independent, assertive woman who likes to reveal her femininity, with a cleaner, more casual and bohemian design, paying homage to the ancient heritage of the Moroccan Kaftan and transmitting our passion for Morocco in each piece.
The pieces are made in Morocco, by the hands of those who have always made kaftans, but designed by us.
These are numbered pieces, as we will only make 20 copies of each model, so you will receive a numbered certificate for your Kaftan at home. We add elegance to exclusivity.
Our challenge for you is to wear a kaftan... and feel the female empowerment it gives you!
